The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

On the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is permitted in academic productions submitted to the Journal, provided that such use preserves the following principles:

I – transparency;
II – human authorship;
III – academic integrity;
IV – responsibility for the content;
V – ethical, safe, and guided use.

When applicable, the use of AI must be clearly indicated, and its role and the results achieved through Artificial Intelligence (AI) must be detailed. It is recommended, for example, to specify the outcome of data processing or the contribution of AI in other stages of the research. It is necessary to describe in detail, step by step, the procedures and AI techniques employed. Such information must be included in the mandatory supplementary document available on the Journal’s website and must also be mandatorily included in the Methodological Procedures section (Materials and Methods) of the manuscript.

The use of artificial intelligence is prohibited for:

I – drafting the manuscript text in a way that compromises the originality of the author-researcher;
II – manipulation of images and data;
III – production of material not declared as originating from AI;
IV – preparation of evaluation reports by the Scientific Editorial Committee or ad hoc reviewers.
